Iskandar: Properly solve the horse racing gambling centre issue

SHAH ALAM, 7 July: The residents of Selangor, especially Muslims, have been asked to be patient about the issue concerning the construction of a horse racing gambling centre in Hulu Selangor.

The Selangor PAS Commissioner, Iskandar Samad, said that the State Government is always concerned about the people’s interests.

He said that the issue will be resolved by taking into account the views of the people.

“PAS, as an Islamic party, totally disagrees with the construction,” he said in a press statement.

Iskandar said that at this moment, he has received a lot of feedback from PAS members and the community, who oppose the construction.

“PAS representatives in the government are consistent with this stance of not agreeing with this detrimental project.

“I am confident that this issue will be solved by the State Government as best possible,” he said.

Previously, the Executive Councillor in charge of Islamic Affairs, Sallehen Mukhyi, said that the government has rejected the application from the developer.

He said that the application was rejected as soon as the company submitted an application.

Recently, some NGOs lodged a police report regarding objections to the proposed Asia’s largest gambling centre.
