SHAH ALAM, 18 July: The President of the International AIDS Society (IAS), Dr Joep Lange, is believed to be one of the 298 victims who died in the MH17 plane crash in Ukraine yesterday.
The http://www.news.com.au/ site reported that Lange was on board the Boeing 777-200 aircraft en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, and was expected to arrive at 6 this morning.
He said that he was on the plane to Melbourne, Australia, to attend the International AIDS Conference 2014 to be held from July 20 to 25.
It was reported that the MH17 aircraft was possibly shot down when flying over a area that is in unrest due to the military conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
However, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has not confirmed whether the aircraft was shot down or otherwise, and will seek justice if this is true.
