SHAH ALAM, 19 Aug: The Chief Minster, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, will retain his position as the President of the Football Association of Selangor (FAS) for the 2014-2018 term after winning unopposed at the 64th annual congress.

He has held the chair of the FAS President since 2010 after taking over the position from Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo.

His deputy, Datuk Abdul Mokhtar Ahmad, will also retain his position after winning unopposed in the FAS Executive Committee election for the term which took place at the Shah Alam Club in Selangor.

Bernama reported that at the congress, three out of the four Vice-Presidents; Datuk Emran Kadir, Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal and K.Palanisamy, will retain their respective positions in the election.

However, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Federal Territories, Datuk Seri Adnan bin Md Ikshan, did not want to defend his position as one of the Vice-Presidents and was replaced by Datuk Samin Sarmin.

Six new faces were elected to be in the FAS executive committee with seven old faces.

They are Omar Ali, Noor Hishham Mohd Ghouth, Ariffin Hamid, Datuk P Sugumaran, Abd Rauf Ahmad and Adnan Sariff, while the seven old faces are the FAS Treasurer Datuk S.Sivasundaram, Razak Abdul Karim, V.Thalayasingam, Mustaza Ahmad, K.Santhanaraju, R.Sekar Chandra and Y.Suntharasagaran.
