SHAH ALAM, 27 Aug: The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the Water Concession Restructuring in Selangor will be signed in the near future.
Abdul Khalid confirmed that the agreement, if it is signed soon, will be enforced to its fullest although he is no longer the Chief Minister.
“All agreements between the state government and the federal government will be enforced,” Abdul Khalid said in the Exco meeting press conference today.
On August 2, the Federal Government and the State Government of Selangor signed the agreement regarding the restructuring of the water supply industry and a long-term solution on the water issue in Selangor.
The agreement was signed by Abdul Khalid and the Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA), Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili, who represented the Federal Government.
The agreement is also an extension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both parties on February 26 on the construction of the treatment plan in Hulu Langat, Selangor.
