SHAH ALAM, 26 Aug: The State Government, through the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) and the Selangor Mufti Department will hold the Istisqa’ prayers at seven of the dams in this state so that an overflow of rain falls at all catchment and dam areas.

The prayers will be held simultaneously at all dam locations, including collectively at mosques in Selangor and the Federal Territory on September 5 at 9 in the morning, reported Sinar Harian.

The Director of JAIS, Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad, said that the people are urged to take proactive measures in performing the Istisqa’ at their respective levels as a sign of unity with the agendas carried out by the Selangor State Government.

According to him, the Selangor Mufti, Datuk Mohd Tamyez Abdul Wahid, will lead the prayers at the Sungai Selangor Dam.

He also asked the Muslim community to spend time together to participate in the Istisqa’ prayers at dams nearby.
