MBPJ: The one-way street system will be implemented on Sunday

PETALING JAYA, 9 Oct: The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) will implement the one-way street system on major routes in the city starting this Sunday.

The routes involved are Jalan Utara, Jalan Timur, Jalan Sultan, Jalan Barat and Jalan Yong Shook Lin.

The MBPJ spokesman said that due to that, several identified bus routes will undergo changes when the system is implemented.

He said that these routes are the route towards Shah Ala and Kuala Lumpur for the location of the bus stop at the Federal Highway – Jalan Barat flyover near the PJ 8 Building and the Federal Highway – Jalan Utara flyover near the Armada Hotel.

“Both routes to the bus stop will experience changes; from Shah Alam through Jalan Timur to Jalan Sultan to Jalan Barat and exiting left to the Federal Highway.

“Meanwhile from Kuala Lumpur, it will exit to Jalan Utara heading to the bus stop on Jalan Utara near the Asia Jaya LRT Station,” he said.

For the convenience of pedestrians, he said that pedestrian safety will be paramount with several crossings and pedestrian bridges being used during the execution of the one-way street system trial.

“The Council will also provide additional pedestrian crossings at two locations, one each at Jalan Utara near the Asia Jaya LRT Station and at Jalan Sultan near Complex C.

“Motorists are reminded to comply with all navigation signs to facilitate the flow of traffic during this trial,” he said.
