SHAH ALAM, 22 Oct: The Member of the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) Zone 47B, Lee Fu Haw, praised the proactive measures by the Quick Response Squad (Pantas) in helping initial restorations related to the thunderstorm that hit Pandamaran, Klang, yesterday.

He said that the presence of the Pantas Squad and several MPS departments at the incident site helped in solving problems especially the traffic congestion at several roads in the area.

“Until now, Pantas is actively carrying out clean-up works and cutting down felled trees,” he said when contacted by Selangor Kini.

Yesterday, Pantas was helped by the MPS Engineering Department and the Department of Parks and Recreation to go to the location of the incident to help move felled trees and aid in the traffic flow.

It was reported that around 50 trees fell and some of the trees blocked the traffic at Jalan Banting and Jalan Besar Pandamaran.

“TNB came to cut the electricity supply to ensure the safety of the public is assured as several poles and electrical cables in the area were crushed by the trees,” he said.

In other developments, the storm that happened in Pandamaran also received attention by the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS).

LZS, through its Facebook page, said that they are identifying the needs of the residents involved to ease their burden.
