Entrepreneurship fields vast, from tapioca chips to microchips

SHAH ALAM, 27 Nov: The existence of two entrepreneurship Standing Committees (Stanco) in the state government is required to examine each field that is different in its development levels.

The Exco for Young Generation Development & Sports, Culture and Entrepreneur Development, Amirudin Shari (PKR-Batu Caves), said that he is more focused on entrepreneur development at the early stages.

1-5

He said that the larger state will be regulated under the jurisdiction of the Investment, Industry & Trade, Small & Medium Industries and Transport Stanco, Datuk Tang CHang Khim (DAP-Sungai Pinang).

“The field of entrepreneurship is vast, from tapioca chips to microchips.

“This definition is also separated by capital; RM300000 are micro-businesses, other small industries. For medium-large industries, the amount would be larger,” he said during his winding-up session today.

During the last debate, Lau Weng San (DAP-Kampung Tunku) suggested for the Stanco involving entrepreneurs to be consolidated and not divided by two to facilitate the state government’s focus.

Meanwhile, Amirudin said that the state government will provide a platform for online business entrepreneurs to market their products.

“We want to provide facilities to the people and not be involved (in businesses).

“We will prepare it with the cooperation of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) and Kumpulan Darul Ehsan (KDEB) so that young entrepreneurs can be assisted in addition to the organisation of training programmes,” he added.
