SHAH ALAM, 27 Nov: The Special Low-Cost Housing Programme Scheme has been provided to complete another abandoned housing project at Taman Sungai Yu Indah in Permatang.

The Exco for Housing, Building Management and Urban Life, Iskandar Abdul Samad, said that the discussions at the Abandoned Housing Project Committee Meeting (JPPT) last September agreed to amend some components of the project development.

He said that part of the Low-Cost Housing will be replaced by 120 units of Medium-Cost Homes and 272 units of Affordable Terrace Houses.

“The rest involves 107 buyers and will remain as Low-Cost Housing.

“It aims to make the project potentially restored and help solve the problem of the project from being further abandoned,” he said during the winding-up session today.\

This project is a joint venture between Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) and Serambi Padu Sdn Bhd, involving 499 Low-Cost Housing units with 107 buyers.

At the time, the whole development was required for the construction of Low-Cost Housing only.
