CM visits Kelantan tomorrow, PM ‘busy’ playing golf in Hawaii

SHAH ALAM, 25 Dec: Various parties praised the actions of the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, who will visit Kelantan and hand over donations to the flood victims in the state tomorrow.

Nagaswari Murusagan said that Mohamed Azmin’s actions are appropriate compared to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is currently ‘busy’ playing golf with the President of the United States, Barrack Obama, in Hawaii.

“PM is playing golf with Obama in Hawaii while on vacation spending the people’s money, but flood victims are suffering. This is BN’s work of prioritising vacation more than the people themselves,” he said.

Earlier, Mohamed Azmin, through his Facebook page, informed that he will be flying to Kelantan tomorrow to visit the flood victims in the state.

In the visit, Mohamed Azmin will also hand over contributions to the Kelantan government to help ease the burden of flood victims in the state since December 16.

Mohamed Azmin said that he will hold a special meeting with the State Government Executive Council (MMKN) regarding the matter.

“God willing, a special MMKN and Selangor government meeting will announce assistance for flood victims. I will personally visit Kelantan tomorrow,” he said on Facebook.

Meanwhile, the people of Kelantan also praised Mohamed Azmin’s concern of being willing to personally visit and hand over donations.

“Tq yab mb selangor..respect dari anak kelate (Thank you Selangor CM for respecting the people of Kelantan,” said Syafnan Zain.

Siti Ainiza Kamsari said that Mohamed Azmin has taken over the duties of the Prime Minister who should have visited at this crucial moment.

“YB, u take over the PMR yang sepatutnya turun Kelantan (who should be visiting Kelantan)! Thumbs Up YB!!!!” he said.

Website http://portalbencana.mkn.gov.my/ informed that three major rivers in the state, Sungai lebir, Sungai Kelantan and Sungai Golok, have passed the danger level and, as of now, 16 roads in six districts have been closed to traffic.

The flood situation happened because of the ‘New Moon’ phenomenon where the moon is rather close to the Earth causing high tides in the East Coast area.
