PPRNS: Hopefully the discussion with the state government bears fruit

SHAH ALAM, 11 Dec: The Ruminant Breeders Association of Selangor (PPRNS) hopes that the problems faced by breeders in the state can be quickly solved following the state government’s willingness to talk about it.

Its Chairman, Samad Kassim, said that the association also hoped that the meeting between the two parties will be held in the near future.

He said that PPRNS has already sent a letter to the Chief Minister’s office recently, together with some proposals for the state government’s consideration.

“We hope to get a positive response from the state government regarding this matter.

“The Chief Minister’s willingness to help PPRNS is welcomed and hopefully the problems we have long faced can be solved quickly, in addition to being beneficial to both parties,” he told Selangor Kini today.

Prior to this, the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the state government is ready to help ruminant breeders in the state by providing a suitable site if the party agrees to find a solution together.

He said that the state government is concerned about the fate of this group and will not marginalise them in the current state of development.

“The state government is willing to prepare a suitable site for breeding to help the breeders in Selangor.

“But we want an understanding between both parties (the state government and animal farmers). If they agree to move, we have no problem in helping,” he said.

More than 1,300 ruminant farmers (cattle, buffalo and goats) are pressured by development and the problem of limited land in Selangor, with some of them being forced to fold their businesses.
