MBSA’s PANTAS team clears fallen trees quickly, monitors flash flooding

SHAH ALAM, 30 Jan: The Shah Alam City Council’s (MBSA) PANTAS team acted immediately in monitoring the flash flood situation, in addition to moving fallen trees that blocked the roads in Section 15, Section 19 and Section 20.

The Deputy Director of the MBSA Department of Corporate & Community Development, Shahrin Ahmad, said that heavy rain around 4pm yesterday caused flash flooding in several areas, particularly in Section 13.

“The PANTAS team also obtained information from the Meteorological Department on weather conditions.

“People who want to report fallen trees, floods and landslides can contact the MBSA PANTAS team at 03-55105811,” he said.

Heavy rain followed by thunderstorms for less than an hour caused flash flooding and trees to fall at some areas in Shah Alam.

The incident also caused the roof of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Section 20 to be damaged due to the storm.

Heavy rain last night also caused some areas in Section 11 and near Wisma Rozali in Section 13 to become flooded.

The situation recovered an hour later and roads were passable as usual.
