MPSJ should actively provide information before implementing the coupon parking

SUBANG JAYA, 14 Jan: The residents of Subang Jaya have mixed opinions regarding the implementation of the coupon parking system which will come into effect in early February.

Selangor Kini today found that most of the people met are still not aware of the matter.

A worker in the private sector, Khairil Azhar Ismail, 39, said that the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) should actively inform the public prior to making this move.

“We also hope that the rates to be charged will not be too burdensome to the residents in areas under the administration of MPSJ.

“This is because Subang Jaya is still a municipality and not like Shah Alam or Petaling Jaya, that are in the city classification,” he said today.

Yesterday, MPSJ announced that the implementation will involve Subang Jaya, Puchong/Kinrara and Seri Kembangan/Sri Serdang, covering a large part of the area for the service.

Meanwhile, a hospital staff, Rozie Che Rose, 50, welcomed the use of the coupons when compared to the parking machines that often face technical problems causing trouble to the people.

“However, different parking coupons in different local authority areas are rather troublesome.

“It would be better if the whole of Selangor uses the same coupon system because it is more practical and easier for the people,” he said.
