SHAH ALAM, 4 Jan: The Selangor Humanitarian Aid Mission Association (PANTAS) has been continuously extending donations and helping flood victims in all states affected by the floods.

Its Chairperson, Hamsah Djabir, said that all donations in the form of essential goods, clothing and workforce has been channelled through the assistance channels in each state and distributed in stages based on current needs.

He said that PANTAS has mobilised assistance in the East Coast to Kelantan, Pahang, Terengganu, in addition to Perak and Selangor.

“Now, we are concentrating on Kuala Krai, Kelantan, where today, in collaboration with the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ), we will mobilise about 40 volunteers for cleaning purposes in public areas.

“Joining us is also the Selangor Exco, Dr Daroyah Alwi, to deliver aid to the flood victims in Kampung Guchil, Kuala Krai,” he told Selangor Kini today.

In addition, Hamsah said that PANTAS, in cooperation with the Kelantan Government Flood Committee, has also established a Flood Operations Centre in Kuala Krai, Kelantan.

He said that PANTAS will not open similar centres in other states, but help will continue to be channelled to the fixed locations.

“PANTAS received assistance from various parties and NGOs from Selangor, Johor, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan and some other parties have provided supplies of essential goods to be distributed to flood victims.

“We are also helping those facing health problems through mobile treatment centres,” he said.

Hamsah said that the electricity and water supply in Kuala Krai has been restored today and it helps facilitate PANTAS, which has set up camp in the area since four days ago.
