PR brings ‘ong’ to the residents of Bagan Sungai Burong

SABAK BERNAM, 6 Jan: The decades of waiting by the residents of Bagan Sungai Burong to secure land rights longed and laboured ended today.

The state government delivered the land titles to 35 recipients for the housing site at a ceremony officiated by the Exco for New Village Development, Ean Yong Hian Wah.

For Chua Bak Tong, 50, this historical day would not have happened if the state government had not changed its reins in the past seven years.

He said that the commitment of the Selangor government led by Pakatan Rakyat (PR) at this moment has brought a lot of luck or ‘ong’ to the people of different races.

“Not just Malays, but even Indians and we Chinese have also obtained justice and equal rights. This is what the people want.

“Thank you PR. I hope that more land ownership rights will be restored to the people of Selangor in the future,” he told Selangor Kini today.

The joy and satisfaction was also shared by another recipient, Chia Chung Yong, 39, who described today as one of his happiest days.

“It is indeed very joyful when all the effort of going to and fro from the District and Land Office finally paid off.

“Everything was done without a lot of bureaucracy, making the process a smooth one,” he said.
