5 Selangorku Homes projects under RM250,000 starting April

SHAH ALAM, 18 Feb: The state government is expected to launch five affordable housing projects under RM250,000 by this April.

8,401 housing units will be built for the five projects in line with the goals of the Chief Minister in the Budget 2015 speech, making the target 15,000 Selangorku Homes units, with construction starting this year.

The Exco for Housing, Building Management and Urban Living, Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad, said that this was notified through a closed discussion that was held in Johor Bharu, and he is confident that the housing project’s targets can be achieved.

The developer responsible in the Klang project is Sime Darby Property (Klang) Sdn Bhd involving Bandar Bukit Raja (2,403 units), Gemilang Waras Sdn Bhd in Bandar Bukit Tinggi 2 (695 units) and Gabungan Efektif Sdn Bhd in Bandar Parklands (1,041 units).

Apart from that, Bandar Rimbayu Sdn Bhd will be responsible for Bandar Rimbayu, Tanjung Due Belas and Kuala Langat (2,330 units in total), while Lakefront Residence Sdn Bhd is responsible in Cyberjaya, Sepang (1,932 units).

“During a private discussion (retreat), we agreed that the developers that received approval to build Selangorku Homes and Affordable Homes from 2011 to 2014 need to submit their planning permission before May 1.

“Failure to submit the application will result in the company and the board of directors involved to be blacklisted.

“This means that they will not be allowed to submit a new planning permission until their application for the Selangorku Homes or Affordable Homes is submitted,” he said.

The state government will also consider issuing a stop-work order for their existing projects.
