SHAH ALAM, 20 Feb: Participant from the National Sports Council team, Sufian Nabil Omar, won first place for the open category of the 15th Shah Alam Criterium Competition recently.
The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Deputy Corporate Director, Shahrin Ahmad, said that the competition was held around Taman Tasik and managed to attract over 800 entries.
“We certainly encourage the participation of professional cyclists as an inspiration to amateur cyclists.
“This competition is also to educate urban citizens to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle,” he said in a statement.
The categories are the mountain bicycle category and the racing bicycle category, as well as an open competition according to the age groups set.
The ages include the men’s category for age 15 to 18, men’s junior veteran category for 35 to 45, men’s senior category for 46 years of age and above, men’s open category for age 19 to 35 and the women’s open category.
For children, it is open for boys and girls aged 4 and 5 with a distance of 100 metres.
