SHAH ALAM, 18 Feb: The Election Commission (EC) announced that the Chempaka constituency by-election will be on March 22.
The EC Chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Yusof, said that the nomination has been set for March 10.
He said that the cost for the Chempaka by-election is estimated at RM810,000.
The Chempaka constituency seat was left vacant when its incumbent, the late Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, died of prostate cancer on February 12.
In the 13th General Election, Nik Aziz (PAS) beat the BN candidate, Wan Razman Wan Abd Razak, with a majority of 6,500 votes.
