Traders do not miss out the opportunity for RM100 million Skimsel & Mimbar allocations

AMPANG, 7 Feb: Small businesses that qualify are urged to not miss out on the opportunity to participate in the Urban Poor Micro-credit Programme (Mimbar) and the Selangor Micro-credit Scheme (Skimsel).

The Exco for Youth Generation Development, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneurship Development said that this is because the RM100 million allocation announced by the Chief Minister in the Budget 2015 is a large amount that entrepreneurs in this state should make use of.

“In the last budget, the CM personally announced RM100 million for Mimbar and Skimsel for existing traders and also to build new businesses in the tough economic condition this year,” he said.

He told this to Selangor Kini after attending the closing ceremony of the 12th International Youth Gathering (IYG) at the Flamingo Hotel yesterday.

He said that the large allocation was created to help small businesses weather the economic slowdown this year.

Skimsel is loan without collateral and special benefits for the rural poor to start a business with the aim of taking the group out of the cycle of poverty, while Mimbar is especially for the urban poor for the same purpose.
