SHAH ALAM, 15 Feb: Almost all users in areas affected by the water supply disruption in Petaling, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Sepang since yesterday have begun to receive water supply gradually since early this morning.

The Selangor Water Supply Company Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said that the water supply recovered as the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant (WTP) increased the production of treated water to the normal rate since 3 this morning.

“The status of the water supply recovery is at 100 percent in Sepang and Kuala Langat, while in Hulu Langat it is 97.3 percent and 31 percent in Petaling,” according the the press statement by Syabas.

Syabas also provided emergency water through tankers and static water tanks to minimise the inconvenience to consumers.

The unscheduled water disruption involved 378 areas, starting yesterday, due to the reduction of treated water production by the Sungai Semenyih WTP because of the high ammonia and manganese content.
