Damaged mailboxes: Public awareness needs to be improved

SHAH ALAM, 13 Mar: Various parties, including the government, have to bear high losses due to acts of vandalism by irresponsible parties.

Among those who have been affected by these immoral activities include individuals when mailboxes at their respective homes are damaged of stolen.

Assistant Vice President of Pos Malaysia Bhd’s Communications Relations Group, Engku Isyamuddin Tuan Losin, said that the absence of proper mailboxes would make it hard for the staff of Pos Malaysia to send documents.

“Pos Malaysia wants to invite the public to promote awareness together about the negative effects of vandalism.

“A large sum of money needs to be spent to repair damages caused by vandals when this money can be channelled for other uses and benefits for the public.

“The public can now play an important role in combating vandalism,” said Engku Isyamuddin in a statement to Selangor Kini.

He explained that among the roles that the society can play is reporting vandalism activities to the authorities immediately if they see or have information on any of these irresponsible activities.

“The people are also advised to ensure that their mailboxes are always in good condition and to immediately repair them if damaged,” he added.
