SHAH ALAM, 11 Mar: Assemblymen from the opposition are ready to declare assets if this becomes part of the Selangor government policy for all of its Assemblymen.

Semenyih Assemblyman, Datuk Johan Abdul Aziz, said that it is not a state government policy so it is up to the individual to do so or otherwise.

“It is a matter of policy. Is the declaration of assets required of each Assemblyman in Selangor? If it is a policy, then as Selangor Assemblymen, we will declare our assets.

“Otherwise, it is a personal matter and it is up to Assemblymen to declare it or otherwise,” he told Selangor Kini.

The declaration of assets among leaders became heated up when the Cheras Umno Chief, Datuk Seri Syed Ali Alhabshee, challenged Pakatan Rakyat (PR) Assemblymen and MPs to declare their assets.

Instead, this has been carried out by the Selangor PR leadership since 2008 and is not a big deal for them to do it again.
