PR MPs go bald for Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR, 10 Mar: Two Pakatan Rakyat (PR) Members of Parliament and a Penang Assemblyman voluntarily shaved their head in sign of protest against the imprisonment of the Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in front of the Parliament building.

The three leaders who initiated the event were the Kota Kinabalu MP, Wong Sze Phin; Pasir Putih MP, Datuk Dr Nik Mazian Nik Mahamad and the Machang Bubuk Assemblyman, Lee Kai Loon.

The protest that took place peacefully lasted for 15 minutes and was also joined by 20 MP while shouting ‘Bebaskan Kehakiman’ (Free the Judiciary), ‘Bebas Anwar’ (Free Anwar) and ‘Bebaskan Perundangan’ (Free the Legislation).

At the same time, the Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) mobilised the People’s Petition for the release of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The petition was handed over the the Yang si-Pertuan Agaong, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah to seek his consent to release Anwar from the prison sentence imposed on him.
