“It is expected for the mosque dome upgrading to begin in April 2015, with a period of 18 months to complete,” he said in a statement.

He said that plans to upgrade the mosque’s dome begun last year when the Selangor State Public Works Department (JKR) was asked to make a careful evaluation in relation to the damages, including recommendations for improvement which will be carried out at the dome.

Prior to this, Sinar Harian reported that the 22-year-old mosque has become the talk of people around Shah Alam as its condition now is not like before.

Nearly residents and visitors expressed disappointment looking at the dome and the walls, which look like they have not been properly maintained.

In fact, a survey by Sinar Harian found that the surface of the dome is dull and it can clearly be seen even though it is quite high up.
