CM: Project in front of SMKA Maahad Hamidiah must comply with local authority rules

KUALA SELANGOR, 27 Apr: Project developers, especially in school areas, must comply with guidelines established by local authorities before carrying out any development project.

The statement of the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, was in reference to the project in front of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (A) Maahad Hamidiah near Jalan Sungai Ramal Luar, Kajang.

It is because the project received objections from the parents of students and residents who want the state government and the local authority to cancel the development.

“I have already received the memorandum, we will have to check what their objection is about because it is private land.

“However, developers must adhere to all guidelines set by local authorities before any development continues,” he said after visiting Maahad Tarbiyah Islamiyah Al-Ansar near here today.

It is claimed that 1,000 students and school staff will be threatened because the 36-storey building’s construction project is in front of the school.
