May 7 a state public holiday to facilitate voters

GEORGETOWN, 27 Apr: The Penang government announced that May 7 will be a state public holiday to facilitate registered voters in the Permatang Pauh Parliament area to vote during the by-election.

The Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng, said that the decision was reached unanimously during the state EXCO meeting recently.

“We want all employers to give leave to their workers who are voters in Permatang Pauh.

“The official notification related to the public holiday will be issued by the State Government Secretary’s Office in the near future,” he said during a press conference today, taken from Berita Harian Online.
