SUBANG JAYA, 18 Apr: 447 participants took part in the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) Racial Cultural Arts Programme 2015 which took place at The Palace@One City.

Being organised for the second time, this programme was utilised by MPSJ to promote their tourism products in conjunction with the Visit Selangor Year 2015.

This time, a platform was also provided for new talents of arts and culture, in addition to exposing participants to cultural arts awareness through engagement without boundaries.

The cultural competition this time provided prizes in the form of cash amounting to RM15,100.

Among the events was an Unplugged (open) contest, a recycled music contest (secondary schools) and lion dance performances.

The two-day programme was inaugurated by the Exco for Young Generation Development and Sports, Culture and Entrepreneurship Development, Amirudin Shari, accompanied by the MPSJ Yang Dipertua, Abdullah Marjunid.

Amirudin also managed to present prizes to the contestants of the Unplugged competition which was won by group Sweet Love, after they collected a mark of 91.5 percent.

He also led the convoy of large motorcycles to the launch of the carnival.

The second place went to Little Forte, followed by Harmonik Perdana.

Each took home cash prizes, trophies and certificates of participation.
