Reject IS’ extremism and heinous ideology

SHAH ALAM, 27 Apr: Civil servants and citizens are advised to reject ideologies and any attempt to influence them to engage in extremism fights by the group that calls themselves Islamic State (IS).

The State Government Secretary, Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi, said that civil servants must be smart in interpreting ideologies that are contradictory to Islamic teachings.

“Some of us still lack knowledge about the ideologies and threat brought on by IS,” he said during the IS threat Briefing speech today.

He said that the group is growing increasingly violent and heinous towards Muslims and people of other faiths, as well as exceeding the limits of humanity.

He said that the 106th National Fatwa Committee Dialogue For Islamic Religious Affairs last October is of the opinion that the actions of Muslims from Malaysia who are fighting in the name of jihad to support IS is futile.

“This is because their fight is not considered as jihad and their deaths are also not categorised as being martyrs, according to the framework of Islamic law,” he said.
