WHAT’S THE CASE? PKNS makes the Kampung Mujahidin new placement process a success

SHAH ALAM, 14 Apr: The state government, through the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), will carry out the development process of the new housing area for the residents of Kampung Daruk Mujahidin, Teluk Panglima Garang.

The Exco for Islamic Affairs, Malay Customs, Rural Development and Traditional Village, Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi, said that a suitable area has been identified for the purpose adjacent to Taman Sijangkang Jaya, near here.

He said that the state government has decided it in the Exco meeting recently for the project to be handed over to PKNS and they are in the process of reviewing the area for development, including a part of it for their corporate social responsibility (CSR).

“I think that PKNS is currently in the process of completing the development plan to be proposed to the state government.

“God-willing, I hope that this matter can be resolved as soon as possible because PKNS is also much involved in the Selangorku Housing programme,” he told Selangor Kini.

The residents of Kampung Darul Mujahidin had to move to a new settlement when the area they occupied changed status to an industrial zone since the early 1990s.

Several discussions have been held since 2009, but until now, no decision has been reached for the migration.

Ahmad Yunus said that development prior to this was not done when WorldWide Holdings Berhad (WorldWide) failed to reach a decision for that purpose.

“We will finally hand it over to PKNS and now we are waiting for a reply from WorldWide for re-submission,” he said.
