CM: NEG & Daihatsu invited to increase investment

SHAH ALAM, 27 May: The leading glass producing company, Nippon Electric Glass Co. Ltd (NEG), has been invited to invest more in Selangor.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that this was because NEG is among the companies with the largest base in Selangor.

He also invited the company to set up a research and development (R&D) centre in Selangor.

“The state government will also continue to give strong support to NEG Malaysia in Selangor,” he said in a statement.

Mohamed Azmin, together with the Selangor delegation, held a working visit to Osaka, Japan, to promote investment in the country.

During the visit, he also visited the headquarters of Daihatsu Motor Co Ltd to meet with the top management of the automotive company.

It aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the state government and Daihatsu in addition to inviting them to continue to increase investment in Selangor.

During the same visit, the Chief Executive Officer of Invest Selangor Berhad, Hasan Azhari Idris, also presented the ‘Invest Selangor as an Investment Solution Centre’ working paper to the top management of Daihatsu.

The delegation was also taken to visit Humobility World, Daihatsu’s museum showcasing technology and vehicles produced by them.
