CM: No need to settle water restructuring in court

KUALA SELANGOR, 10 May: There is no urgent need to refer to the judiciary body if the water industry restructuring issue between the Selangor government and the federal government has reached an impasse.

Instead, the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that it could be settled through discussion if both sides can be open in the interest of the people.

“If both sides can be open to guarantee it in the interest of the people, I do not see a need to bring this case to court because some things have been agreed in the agreement, you cannot expect me to redraft it?

“I like to perform on what was agreed, so there is no need to go to court,” he said after the Check Presentation Ceremony for the Selangor Hijra Financing at the Kuala Selangor Indoor Stadium today.

In relation to that Mohamed Azmin said that it would be better if the federal government sets a date for talks to solve matters arising, especially in relation to Selangor’s water assets.

“It can be a hindrance to the federal government, I propose that we discuss it because it cannot be solved in the media or public arguments.

“I’m more interested in discussions with the Minister to discuss this matter amicably,” he said.
