SHAH ALAM, 9 May: Tabung Haji (TH) should cancel the purchase of land from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) immediately and an investigation should be conducted on TH.

The Chief Minister of Selangor, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that TH’s move in the land transaction is seen as being not transparent as a company that should be taking care of the people’s money.

“We urge the Chairman of TH and the management of TH to resign and take responsibility. If there is an element of irregularity, they should be dragged to court and appropriate action should be taken.

“TH’s investment involves a large sum of nearly RM200 million for 1.5 acres of land,” he said during the Presentation Ceremony for the Certificate of Fitness for the Sri Indah Apartments today.

TH confirmed that the purchase is from the investment of the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) which is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Mohamed Azmin said that TH should be responsible to provide explanations to the people and in Parliament because public money is being used with impunity.

“In the near future, we will also reveal some Federal Government GLCs that are also involved in 1MDB investments in large numbers,” he said.
