“The library, which started its operation since April 4, 2000, has now taken the progressive move to offer local e-books for its members.

“The introduction of this digital portal is to meet the current demand from the public who can now borrow books at any time,” he said to reporters after inaugurating the E-Books Launch & Computer Safety Workshop here at the Dewan Ilmu Perpustakaan Komuniti Petaling Jaya.

What’s more impressive is that the ELib system supports all smart devices and computers to facilitate the Petaling Jaya community’s access to the reading materials, Azizi said.

“The modern technology is now at users’ fingertips which can encourage a reading culture in the country.

“The system contains approximately 200 e-books ranging from fiction, non-fiction, educational and many more genres,” he said.

He informed that the ELib system in the library is in collaboration with the founder of the biggest e-book portal in Malaysia which is e-Sentral.

“The public can access the library’s digital portal at (elib/www.mbpjlib.elib.com.my),” he said.
