SHAH ALAM, 10 May: The long-term football development plan for Selangor is expected to be fully completed before August this year.

The Exco for Young Generation Development, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneurship Development, Amirudin Shari, said that the plan involves various age groups, starting from children.

“This is our move in ensuring that most of Selangor’s players come from Selangor.

“We also want to preserve Selangor’s tradition as a producer of quality players in Malaysian,” he told Selangor Kini.

Commenting on the development of other sports, Amirudin said that the Selangor government is currently implementing the district level sports development plan.

“Like Petaling Jaya is focusing on athletics and badminton, Klan is focusing on hockey and so on.

“For the meantime, we will put full use of the work force at the local authority level even though we are aware that to develop further, we need full-time staff,” he said.
