Former Deputy Minister: Pakatan Rakyat has promising hope of taking over Putrajaya

PERMATANG PAUH, 4 May: With the change in the current political scenario, Pakatan Rakyat (PR) can take over Putrajaya and become the government in the future, replacing Barisan Nasional (BN).

Former Deputy minister Datuk Fauzi Abdul Rahman said that PR has the capability as they are currently playing a major role as a strong opposition and denying BN a two-thirds majority in parliament.

He said that the change of scenario is also happening to the civilised world like what happened to the change in world power in the past until now.

“The next civilisation environment is in the Pacific Ocean where China, Japan, Korea, Australia, including our country Malaysia, lies.

“Similarly with political parties, previously we had Perikatan as the government in the past, now it is under BN (our current government) where starting 2004 it has declined until they lost the majority in 2013.

“For me, it is continuous and I am confident that with young leaders such as Mohamed Azmin Ali, Nurul Izzah Anwar, Rafizi Ramli, and many more, they have played a major role as the country’s opposition and one day we (PR) will change to become the government of the future,” he said during the Youth Forum in Seberang Jaya last night.

The former Member of Parliament for Kuantan said that a government will last long if they take care of the welfare of the people and the country.

He said that it is different like how BN is now shaky due to failure in playing the role as a fair government due to various irregularities that have happened, to a point of imprisoning the country’s political enemies.

“This way, they cannot remain. They would remain when a government takes care of the people’s prosperity and wellbeing, as well as the country; it will remain.

“In other words, BN can remain if they do so, the same goes for the party that takes over,” he said.
