Provisions to repair sports facilities up to RM1.1 million

MERU, 11 May: Provisions for upgrades and sports facilities has increased from RM800,000 to RM1.1 million with each constituency receiving an allocation of RM20,00.

The Exco for Young Generation Development, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneurship Development, Amirudin Shari, said that each constituency, through the local government, has the right to determine for the allocation to be managed and they do not require the approval at the Exco level.

“It is hoped that each constituency can repair or add at least one sports facility by using the provisions given by the end of this year,” he told Selangor Kini.

He hopes that the PLUS Selangor League Futsal Championship held in each constituency will become the field to identify and find new talent as successor athlete assets.

Amirudin, when opening the Meru PLUS Selangor League Futsal Championship, was also satisfied and pleased with the overwhelming response from the youth.

“Many people want to join and usually the number of participation exceeds the team limit we had set for each tournament.

“The winner of each constituency will be taken to compete at the state level, this boosting sports in Selangor,” he said.

With a total of 200 involved, 32 teams from around Meru competed to grab prizes amounting to RM2,000.
