SUBANG JAYA, 7 May: The construction of a U-turn near the USJ and SS14 area is expected to reduce traffic congestion by 20 to 30 percent here at Persiaran Kewajipan.

The Subang Jaya Assemblyman, Hannah Yeoh, said that the route was completed on April 7 and tested for two weeks before it was opened to road users.

She said that it was carried out by the Selangor Public Works Department (PWD) at a cost of RM264,210.

“In the morning, motorists coming from USJ or SS14 face congestion at Persiaran Kewajipan to go to Bandar Sunway, but with the U-turn, it can be reduced.

“The U-turn also eases the way for those who want to enter the Kesas Highway,” she said during a press conference at the media launch of the U-turn today.

Hannah said that the U-turn can only be used by light vehicles, while heavy vehicles such as buses and lorries are prohibited.
