PETALING JAYA, 24 June: The Bukit Gasing Assemblyman, R Rajiv, urged the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to take immediate action and monitor the process of completing the walkway along Jalan Utara, Petaling Jaya.

Rajiv said that the walkway is very important for the public to go to their work places or colleges because it is close to the Asia Jaya LRT station and the bus stop.

“The contractor appointed by MBPJ for the road system project is responsible for digging up the walkway for almost a month ago, but there has been no improvement until now.

“The contractor should set up more efficient working methods before deciding to dig it up and immediately create a new walkway,” he said.

He also urged the contractor to speed up the improvement of the walkway because it involves public safety.

“Especially for the disabled and senior citizens. I also received over 10 complaints from users expressing their concern for their safety in using the walkway,” he said.
