CM: Pakatan strong in Selangor, concentrates on the agenda to develop the state

SHAH ALAM, 9 June: The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, assured that the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat (PR) will continue to carry out its responsibility in implementing the people’s mandate.

He said that the three Pakatan components are still strong in Selangor, and in fact PKR is committed to solve the conundrum that has hit its component allies PAS and DAP at the central level.

“PKR has a big responsibility to make sure that Pakatan remains strong. The role played by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the pas will be continued for the benefit of the country and the people.

“At the state level, I personally would like to see Pakatan remaining strong.

“There are different views, but as representatives of the people, we have a big responsibility to meet the aspirations of the people who voted for Pakatan in the elections,” he said.

He said this when speaking at the Selangor Government Departments’ Monthly Assembly at the Silver Jubilee Hall today.

He said that the PAS Ulama Council’s proposal asking to severe ties with DAP should not be manipulated as it has not been finalised at the party’s top level.

In relation to that, Mohamed Azmin urged all leaders to focus on the bigger agenda to develop the state and the welfare of the people.

“We are in Selangor due to the strong support of the people who want Pakatan to lead the state. Support form party members alone will not necessarily allow us to form the government.

“The people have high expectations, so we have to show determination in upholding the aspirations of those who voted for Pakatan in the last elections,” he said.
