KUALA LUMPUR, 11 June: The expenditure for maintaining and developing the assets of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) is doubtful because there are some that cannot be operated.
Lumut MP, Mohamad Imran Abdul Hamid (PKR), said that the situation reflects that the country’s defense is not ready in the event of a security threat like in Lahad Datu.
“Spending hundreds of millions but TLDM assets are not well maintained such as the KD Laksamana Hang Nadim.
“In fact, there are cannons that cannot shoot although much has been spent,” he said at the Dewan Rakyat at the Parliament Building today.
Mohamad Imran is a former Laksamana TUDM before retiring and subsequently joined PKR.
He said that this is because of negligence and should not have happened because it involves national security and sovereignty.
