Academic Excellence Award to fuel spirits of 40 recipients

SUBANG, 31 Aug: The Subang Jaya Buddhist Association (SJBA) is presenting the Academic Excellence Award to 40 students who excelled in their exams in conjunction with the 58th Merdeka Day celebration.

The Selangor State Assembly Speaker, Hannah Yeoh, said that they were students who sat for UPSR, PT3, SPM, STPM and other exams.

“The purpose of the award is to be given as an inspiration to continue to excel because they are the country’s future. A total of 11 STPM, 21 SPM, seven PT3, five UPSR and several others received the award today.

“Although the numbers have somewhat decreased compared to last year, a total of 100 students, but it must continue so that it can inspire the rest to continue to work hard and be competitive,” she said during the Merdeka Day celebration at SJBA today.

Hannah, who is also the Subang Jaya Assemblyman, said that the celebration began with the singing of the national anthem and followed by a cake cutting session in conjunction with Merdeka and members born in this month.

In addition, Hannah also encouraged the residents of Subang Jaya, especially students, to use public facilities provided by the state government such as the Selangorku Bus if they are in the area.

“With this service, it can ease the burden of the people due to the increasing cost of living and the plummeting value of the ringgit.

“In addition, residents have the opportunity to obtain healthcare services by KPJ Health Berhad at Klinik Wakaf An Nur (KWAN), Masjid Al Falah that is located in USJ 9,” he said.
