Azmin: Reveal source of funding, Pakatan maintains principle of transparency

SHAH ALAM, 6 Aug: The PKR Deputy President, Mohamed Azmin Ali, reiterated Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) commitment to disclose their sources of funding.

The Chief Minister of Selangor said that it is part of the principle of transparency practiced in most developed countries.

He said that provisions and Acts regarding the matter should be discussed and decided in the Dewan Rakyat.

“The German government, for example, is responsible for distributing funds to each political party.

“Some funds are also used to establish political institutions to enable the people to understand how the democratic process is carried out.

“But now here, 1 billion US dollars enters a person’s account,” he said after the Chief Minister Incorporated (MBI) and the Darul Ehsan Investment Group (DEIG) open house yesterday.

Commenting on the development of the water agreement, Mohamed Azmin said that it is going smoothly and can be completed in accordance with the terms.

“As the Minister’s statement, we are confident that this matter can be resolved in 60 days before taking over the Selangor Water Supply Company (SYABAS) and Puncak Niaga,” he said.
