KUALA SELANGOR, 11 Aug: Youth that do not have the opportunity to continue their formal education now have the opportunity to improve their standard of education in various skills.

The Exco for Islamic Affairs, Malay Customs and Rural Development Heritage & Traditional Villages, Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi, said that the opportunity to take part in the Rural and Village Entrepreneur Development programme is able to create a competitive society.

He said that the short-term course will also allow participants to exchange views and information to facilitate movement into the labour force in the future.

“The participants will also be guided by experts in fields recognised by public institutes of higher learning in Malaysia.

“The programme is being implemented in cooperation with the INPENS International College under the Selangor government which is famous for skills courses,” he said at the programme launch at INPENS College recently.

Some of the courses include Motorcycle, Hairdressing, Beauty, Sewing and Air-Conditioning.

For the session on the 8 and 9 August, 57 participants took part in course in various fields such as haircutting, domestic air-conditioning maintenance basics, curtain sewing and facial basics.

Some course can still be followed on the 3 and 4 October and on October 10 and 11 this year.

In addition to INPENS International College, other courses are also being held at the Anjung Utara Culinary Technological Institute (ITKAU) in Kampung Gesir Tengah, Kuala Kubu Bharu.

Among the courses offered include preparing Arabic Rice, Roti Canai, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Aneka Mee and Soto, Frozen Foods and so on.
