PETALING JAYA, 27 Aug: The Petaling Jaya Selatan (PJS) community bus that is famous for its blue wrap colour now has a new green look.

The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Zone 24 Councillor, Halimey Abu Bakar, said that the PJ City Bus colour was done to give the impression that it is also free.

He said that the green wrapping was first introduced on May 11, with the the service starting at 7 am to 5 pm, every Monday to Friday.

“So, hopefully the people will not be asking about this green bus because it is still the same PJS community bus.

“Only the colour has changed, but the service remains the same, the routs have also increased and it is still free” he said during a press conference at the Bus Hub at PJS 3/2 this evening.

Also present was the Zone 17 Councillor, Raja Fairuz Raja Mazlan, and the Zone 18 Council Member, Ariffin Mahaiyuddin.

The new PJS community bus route came into force on October 15, 2014, covering the area of PJS1, PJS2, PJS3, PJS4, PJS5, PJS6, the Seri Setia Commuter Station and the Taman Dato’ Harun Commuter Station.

With a capacity of 30 passengers at any given time, the PJS community bus passes through 21 stops and 10 destinations at a frequency of one hour.

The community bus service is provided as a feeder bus for those who want the services of the free PJ City Bus to go to the city centre by changing buses at the PJS 3/2 Bus Hub.
