SHAH ALAM, 10 Aug: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) is providing Roll On-Roll Off (RORO) bins to prevent premises owners from seeking services of illegal contractors.

The Deputy Director of the Corporate & Community Development Department, Shahrin Ahmad, said that council contractors are registered under the supervision of the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning Department.

“They are responsible for managing RORO bins in areas administered by MBSA, according to the type of premises.

“The bins are to facilitate the management of garden and bulk waste, including old furniture such as refrigerators, old chairs and tables, cupboards, couches, fans, beds, ovens and so on,” he said in a press statement.

Shahrin said that the service is also to address the problem of illegal dumping in areas administered by MBSA.

Request for RORO bin services can be made through the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning Department on Level 4, Wisma MBSA, or contact the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning Department at 03-5510 5133 extension 1547/1645.

“The council hops that premise owners will cooperate in managing proper waste dumping in order to maintain the harmony in the city of Shah Alam,” he said.
