Red Giants lead Kelantan by 3-0, remains in 3rd position in Super League

SHAH ALAM, 20 Aug: Selangor managed to strengthen its position to end the Super League 2015 at third place after winning 3-0 against Kelantan in the 21st match at the Shah Alam Stadium last night.

Ahmad Hazwan Bakri opened the scoring at the 23rd minute with a free kick which went straight to the corner, defeating the Kalantan goalkeeper, Shahrizan Ismail, thus leading 1-0 in the first half.

Kelantan, led by Zahasmi Ismail, looked rather down due to a suspension.

The suspension involved Norhafiz Zamani Misbah, Mohd Noor Hazrul Mustafa, Austin Mutu dan Gilmar da Silva, while the main goalkeeper, Khairul Fahmi Che Mat, rested in the bench, according to the Selangor FAS website.

In the second half, Selangor continued to stay comfortably on the field when Guilherme De Paula ran past the Kelantan defense before scoring a goal, defeating Shahrizan at the 49th minute for 2-0.

Two minutes later, Andik Vermansah nearly added to the goal count but the kick from outside the penalty box only managed to shake the goal.

Finally, Selangor managed a third goal at the 63rd minute through a penalty kick by De Paula after Ahmad Hazwan dropped Shahrizan.

For the last league match, Selangor is scheduled to meet Perak at the Ipoh Stadium on Saturday (August 22).
