CM: Focus on technological industries to reduce intensive labour

KLANG, 10 Oct: The state government is more selective towards the entry of foreign investors to ensure that new investment in the state has high impact towards the economy of the state and the people.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the government welcomes investment projects based on high-tech industries to achieve the target to make Selangor a ‘smart state’ in the near future.

“We are more selective about our foreign investors in the future when we do not want industries based on labour, but we must turn to high-tech industries to achieve the target to becoming a ‘smart state’.

“We are focusing on promoting five key industries; electronics, electrical, automotive products, biotechnology, food machinery and equipment,” said Mohamed Azmin.

He said this at the Phase 3C Pulau Indah Green Industrial Park And the Pulau Indah Food Station Launch And Sales Launch at Pulau Indah, Port Klang, yesterday.

He said that Selangor plans to build more modern and comprehensive industrial parks across the state following the growing demand in such projects in recent years.

The state government, through Invest Selangor, will also promote industrial parks to stimulate the entry of domestic and foreign investors to the state.
