Strategic Mapping believed to be more efficient in eradicating dengue

SUBANG JAYA, 22 Oct: The strategic mapping method is believed to be more efficient in combating the increase in dengue cases compared to the current practice of searching and destroying.

The Subang Jaya Assemblyman, Hannah Yeoh, said that she is willing to apply this method in hear area if the local authority of the state government are unable to implement it due to certain constraints.

“However, this plan is still being studies before being implemented in my area.

“Cooperation between non-governmental organisations and neighborhood associations will be held to make it work,” she said.

She said this at a press conference when officiating the Community Endowment (Wakaf Komuniti) at Jalan SS15/2E today.

Previously, Hannah suggested for the state government to emulate the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) in applying this method which is seen as more effective in reducing dengue hotspots.

She said that the presentation of this method will be presented before the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) Environment Committee and City Beautification Committee before November.

“It has been presented before the Deputy President and he feels a presentation in the department also needs to be done.

“This is a new method and it needs time for evaluation and so on,” she said.
