SHAH ALAM, JUL 11: International and domestic tourist arrivals to Sekinchan is expected to increase with various programmes and activities being continuously implemented in the area.
Sekinchan Assemblyman Ng Suee Lim said several programmes have been planned in collaboration with related parties in order to continue to promote the area as an ecotourism destination in Selangor.
“I am certain that with the many programmes implemented in these areas, Sekinchan and Selangor will be effectively promoted.
“I am also certain that it can increase the number of international and domestic tourist arrivals here,” he said to SelangorKini.
He was speaking during the ‘Dunia Kecil Diperluas Pandang Kem Pelajar Pengalaman Budaya Antarabangsa’ camping programme in Sekinchan involving 140 participants from Sabah, Sarawak and Taiwan for three days from July 10 to 12.
Suee Lim further elaborated that it is a programme initiated by the Dong Zong student magazine group, in collaboration with Tourism Selangor.
“The program is held in Kampung Sungai Sireh Homestay where all group members participated in all activities organised.
“It is a programme to appreciate the culture of the Malay community in Selangor and to explore the beauty of ecotourism in Sekinchan with its paddy fields and other attractions as well as the uniqueness of its seafood, ” he said.
He said students in the programme, majority of whom are from Taiwan, also get the opportunity to experience the harmonious multi-racial culture in Malaysia.
