SHAH ALAM, JUL 13: The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) and Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) are closely monitoring any spread of Islamic State (IS) propaganda in Selangor.
Selangor Islamic Religious Affairs Exco Dato’ Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi said besides monitoring done by JAIS and MAIS, the public was also urged to cooperate by reporting any activity by the movement to the authorities.
“JAIS and MAIS are constantly on the lookout for the spread of IS in Selangor, in any form including if there are any publications done in Bahasa Melayu.
“To date, we have not received information relating to any IS publication in Bahasa Melayu. If there is, JAIS and MAIS will certainly take immediate action against it.
“I also hope that society will cooperate on this matter by reporting any known IS activity in Selangor to the authorities,” he said to SelangorKini.
According to him, both JAIS and MAIS are always heedful of any report submitted and will conduct thorough investigations for further action to be taken.
He added that apart from reporting to JAIS or MAIS, the public can also report these matters to the Royal Malaysian Police.
